Job Description

The Digital Sales Strategist is a corporate-level position responsible for supporting the overall Nexstar digital sales organization, specifically the local revenue strategy team. Reporting to the Senior Director, Digital Sales Strategy, the strategist will be a self-motivated, independent, problem-solver who works collaboratively with the stations and with the Sales Enablement Team of Regional Directors to build and execute on projects and strategic priorities for Nexstar's local digital growth.

Driven by a high work ethic and the need to activate, the Strategist will identify opportunities to add value to our team, our stations, and our customers, based on knowledge of the evolving digital landscape. This job is for an innovative thinker who understands digital products and services, has a vast knowledge of current market trends, has a good understanding of competitors' products and services, and loves to execute. This person likes to build solutions and solve problems, in collaboration with internal and external teams, while identifying areas of improvement focused on creating scale and efficiency to enhance digital sales revenue.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales Strategy
• Support cross-market and cross-portfolio initiatives by identifying opportunities to communicate and drive sales across channels; share best practices company-wide
• Provide stations and Regional Directors with multi-market revenue pre-sales and post-sales retention support
• Analyze the pricing and Cogs on a quarterly basis for visibility on margins and areas of improvement
• Assist in the build-out of new sales programs/packages
• Explore digital trends to evolve our digital solutions set & articulate our competitive advantage

Group Sales Support
• Lead contests initiative, planning out quarterly promotions working with our partners, and share best practices with regions/stations
• Coordinate with broadcast organization and leadership team on Nexstar tentpole initiatives throughout the year; own the buildout of solutions and present them to the organization
• Become Social Media process and revenue expert
• Assist team with 3rd party vendor requests for info, new product launches, and problem resolution

Sales Enablement
• Collaborate on the build of a sales playbook for local digital sales
• Work with training team to operationalize product and process training
• Create and publish weekly/monthly/quarterly revenue reports and decks to key stakeholders with accompanying insights and recommendations
• Prepare regular and/or ad-hoc revenue performance reports
• Translate data into actionable sales insights
• Identify opportunities and successes to drive sales across markets
• Produce regular Market Insights for Regional market visits to identify:
• Product strength & weaknesses
• Category strength & weaknesses
• Identify areas in need of support
• Discover themes & trends
• Build case studies based on campaign success, business objectives, and categories

Collaborate and build strategy decks for Regional Director Sales meetings

• 5+ years' experience in a digital sales environment, digital agency, or similar
• In-depth knowledge of Display, Search, Social, Mobile, Video, and Email products and campaigns as they pertain to local sales
• Ability to understand digital marketing data and deliver business recommendations
• Ability to comprehend sales reports & create insights
• Ability to translate and clearly communicate complex concepts to multiple stakeholders
• Self-motivated to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple projects and tasks with attention to detail
• Strong solution-driven problem-solving skills
• Professional presentation experience, excellent communication skills
• Experience in working with data visualization tools like TapClicks
• Working knowledge of Google Ad Manager and Wide Orbit
• Basic knowledge of analytics tools (Google Analytics, DFP, Adobe)
• Strong Microsoft Office, Excel, PPT skills required
• Promote a positive culture and develop superior relationships with stations and peers
• Flexibility to do some travel (10%), valid driver's license
