Political Archivist/Producer
WGN America is seeking a smart, political archivist/producer who is a self-starter. This position is based in Chicago, Illinois.

The ideal candidate will work with our news team to identify, research, track and investigate political stories. The candidate will also serve as an archivist, by creating, monitoring, and archiving daily political interviews and stories that can be easily referenced. We are looking to tell richer stories and are committed to producing stories that steer away from bias and present all sides of an issue. The right candidate may also find experts for live newsmaker interviews and develop leads.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
-Excellent researcher who can report thoroughly
-Will assist producers and reporters with finding, fine-tuning, fact-checking, and analyzing content.
- Generating compelling and creative political segment ideas on a daily basis.
- Selecting key video, soundbites, quotes, and other information to be used as production elements.
-Creative presentation style, and ability to showcase all resources and elements
-Unwavering journalistic integrity and ethical standards

Qualifications Requirements:
-Excellent writing, spelling, grammar and copy-editing skills
- Extensive knowledge of politics and current events required
-5+ years producing experience; College degree in broadcast journalism, broadcast news, or related field preferred
