Job Description
NewsNation is looking for a Planning Editor who will be forward thinking in planning for the next day's national coverage, as well as long term planning of significant news events. The position is based in Chicago, Illinois.

The ideal candidate will have experience on a national desk, with a track record of execution on large scale projects.

Responsibilities include:
-Working with Bureaus on a planning calendar for future stories
-Working with newsroom leadership on special coverage planned for the future
-Daily interaction with newsroom leadership
-Effectively using tools and technology to widely share information

Candidate must have a 4-year college degree in broadcasting, journalism or communications, or work experience in a similar role at a network or large market.

Three years of previous newsroom experience is a must. The applicant must be detail-oriented, organized, and can multitask. Strong communication and leadership skills are a must, along with a good grasp of the nation and stories that develop across the country.
