The scheduler is responsible for managing schedules for all news employees at NewsNation to ensure all shows and productions are properly staffed including frequent last-minute changes and adjustments.
Outstanding people skills as a prerequisite, and attention to detail a must for this role.
Manage staff scheduling and vacation/sick tracking
Manage union requirements for scheduling, pay and paid time off within the Collective Bargaining Agreements
Liaison between payroll to handle, adjust and confirm pay, hours worked and paid time off balances
Responsible for maintaining talent coverage for all newscasts and balancing scheduled paid time off
The successful candidate will have over 10 years in broadcasting environments, with at least 3 years in a scheduling role.
Experience with Microsoft Office including Microsoft Excel is required.
Candidate must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Most be able to work some night and weekend as needed.
Workday, union and/or payroll experience helpful.
Must have an ability to grasp department and company policies, procedures and operations. A two- or four-year degree in a related field is required.
Confidentiality regarding newsroom operations discussed with newsroom management is crucial.
