KOLR 10 in Springfield, Missouri is hiring a News Producer. We are looking for someone with passion, enthusiasm, and a knack for storytelling. A News Producer creates compelling and engaging content. The ideal candidate must be a good writer, have solid story judgment, and be a collaborator.

The News Producer builds the rundown, writes stories and teases, edits content, communicates with the team, and times the broadcast.

What is Required:
• Take an active role in daily editorial discussions
• Select stories and organize them into a cohesive sequence
• Clear, concise, conversational writing skills
• Copyedit stories and spellcheck graphics
• Write creative headlines and teases
• Edits video
• Adjust a rundown to add breaking news
• Time a newscast
• Communicate effectively with anchors, multi-media journalists, photographers, meteorologists, sports, digital, news managers, production, and engineering staff

Additional Skills:
• Fluency in English with strong spelling and grammar
• Willing to learn our computer systems and programs
• Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, and handle multiple tasks
• Flexibility to work any shift, with some late notice of shift and schedule changes

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Journalism, communications, or related field or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
