News Producer

Job Description

KRQE Media Group in Albuquerque is looking for a News Producer to join our energetic and fast-paced newsroom. In this role, you'll take the lead in shaping our overnight newscasts - from crafting story flow and writing engaging teases to timing live broadcasts and coordinating with the entire news team. The ideal candidate is a collaborative team player who thrives under deadline pressure, brings strong organizational skills, and has a keen eye for detail.
• Produces newscasts for broadcast across all platforms
• Writes and orders news stories
• Approves scripts
• Balances news and feature content to create compelling broadcasts
• Edits video
• Writes stories for the website and other eMedia platforms
• Interacts with viewers and users on social media sites
• Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements & Skills:
• Journalism degree, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience
• Fluency in English
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
• Minimum two years' experience in news operations
• Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, fax machines and other office equipment
• Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Must be flexible to work the overnight shift, weekends, and holidays as needed
