Job Description
The News Photographer operates television or video cameras to record images or scenes for news reports.
• Minimum one year professional news gathering experience at a Television Station
• Gather audio and video for multiple platforms.
• Communicate with producers, reporters, managers and others regarding things including but not limited to story content, news gathering, logistics and planning.
• Be a partner in the creative process.
• Communicate with producers, reporters, managers and others regarding things including but not limited to story content, news gathering, logistics and planning.
• Interview newsmakers and gather information in breaking news and other urgent situations.
• Maintain video equipment.
• Must be proficient in bonded cellular transmission, live capabilities and be able to move content across multiple platforms.
• High School Diploma
• Fluency in English
• Valid driver's license
• Proficiency in nonlinear editing
• Proficiency in use of broadcast quality equipment
• Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multitask situations
• Flexibility in work shifts: must be available to work mornings, evenings, overnight, holidays and overtime as needed
