Job Description

Creative, aggressive, organized, innovative, proven LEADER. These are the qualities we are searching for in our next Executive Producer at abc27 in Harrisburg, PA. This is a challenging role in a top 50, capital city market and will be an ideal place to grow and learn the skills needed to continue to advance within Nexstar Nation.

The ideal candidate will be able to energize both seasoned and young journalists, bringing fresh ideas to help improve showcasing and storytelling. You will be working closely with the News Director to ensure audience growth and brand execution.

Key responsibilities:
• Manage daily editorial content creation, development, and execution for newscasts
• Produce & execute special projects for the station, Nexstar stations across PA, and News Nation
• Work closely with digital EP to ensure well-rounded coverage and audience growth on all platforms
• Organize daily crew schedules, assignments, and special projects

Key traits & competencies:
• Previous EP experience preferred
• Proven track record with breaking news
• Strong editorial judgement
• Excellent producing skills and expertise in tease writing, showcasing, winning weather coverage and active live shots
• Positive attitude and energy in leadership
• Flexibility with schedule
• Strong decision-making skills
