Digital Content Producer

Job Description

The Digital News Producer produces daily newscast items, decides the order in which stories will be told, writes teases and other content, times news programs, edits video, and posts video to the website.

Position Responsibilities
• Develops and leads winning strategy for station content
• Reviews copy and will correct errors in content, grammar, and punctuation, following prescribed editorial style and formatting guidelines.
• Utilize social media and station website to build and reinforce brand recognition.
• Research and analyze background information related to news stories in order to be able to provide complete and accurate information.
• Ensures that all content meets company standards for journalistic integrity and production quality.
• Writes stories for the web and other digital platforms.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Finds new ways to use social media and station website to engage with viewers​.

Requirements & Skills:
• Bachelor's degree in Journalism, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience
• Fluency in English
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
• Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, fax machines and other office equipment
• Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Flexibility to work any shift
