Dayside Executive Producer

Job Description

WSAV News 3 is looking for a Dayside Executive Producer. This is a great opportunity for an experienced producer who is ready to make the move into management. You will work closely with reporters as they develop their stories and producers as they craft their rundowns. The right candidate will be someone who is constantly keeping our On Your Side brand top of mind when making editorial decisions. We're looking for someone with producing experience as you will fill-in produce when needed.

Savannah is a coastal city known for historical landmarks like Forsyth Park, its 22 beautiful city squares, and proximity to Tybee Island. Our market covers both Georgia and the Lowcountry. You will have plenty of places to explore as you get to learn about the community you serve.

The Executive Producer supervises daily news gathering operations and newscast production.
• Responsible for evaluating stories; organizing them into a cohesive sequence within a newscast
• Define strategic direction for content coverage to meet business and financial objectives
• Manage newsroom, contribute to the editorial process and make solid decisions in breaking news situations
• Execute strategies that engage and grow audiences across all media devices

Requirements & Skills:
• Bachelor's Degree in Communications, TV/film or the equivalent
• At least three to five years of experience in television or radio broadcast/production
• Must be able to interact well with video journalists, anchors, videographers, news managers, production and engineering staff
• Detail oriented
• Excellent verbal, written, and analytical skills
• Strong news judgment, journalistic integrity and understanding of viewer needs and expectations
• Utilize state-of-the-art television technology
