Job Description
North Alabama's News Leader is looking for an experienced journalist to co-anchor our morning newscasts. You will live and work in Alabama's largest city that keeps growing. Huntsville is surrounded by the beautiful mountains and lakes in the Tennessee Valley. It has something for everyone including amazing restaurants, unique shopping, and dozens of brand-new housing options that are priced very competitively. News 19's beautiful, spacious studio is in the heart of the growing downtown.

We are looking for someone who will connect with our viewers and help them start their day. You and your co-anchor will deliver all the morning's headlines, breaking news, weather and traffic. News 19's anchors are working journalists not just news readers. Be prepared to take an active role in shaping the day's news coverage. You'll participate in editorial meetings and work with the morning executive producer and show producers to craft fresh and relevant newscasts - not a repeat from the night before. Strong, conversational writing and copyediting skills are a must!

You will report in the field, when necessary, field anchor and work as a mentor in the newsroom to reporters, producers, and the studio production team. You must be active on digital platforms and get involved in the community.
