Job Description
Political Project – Special Event Production Assistant (Chicago)

NewsNation is looking for several Chicago-based production assistants. The production assistants will work with producers and production staff on our political coverage including but not limited to involvement in special events such as townhalls, and the network's primary and caucus coverage. The ideal candidate is passionate about news and journalism and is eager to learn more about political reporting and television news production. This is a temporary two-month position.

Responsibilities
• Assist producers in all stages of production
• Work closely with producers to conduct and compile research
• Work closely with producers and associate producers to edit video and prepare graphics
• Support guests who will appear on air
• Perform administrative tasks as assigned by leadership

Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
• Minimum six months T.V. experience including internships in a news or talk show environment
• Excellent knowledge of current events and politics
• Must have the ability to work under deadline pressure
• Must have the ability to handle multiple projects or assignments with attention to detail
• Must thrive in a collaborative work environment
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, MS Office)
• Commitment to being a self-starter who proactively seeks out tasks and opportunities for growth
• Must be willing to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends
• Some travel could be required to support live events on location
