NewsNation Political Embed/Campaign Reporter

NewsNation is looking for experienced multiplatform journalists who will be reporter/producers embedded with political candidates and campaigns during the 2024 election cycle. The ideal candidate has an interest in political reporting and prior experience covering politics. Candidate should also be proficient in shooting and editing video and be able to write broadcast and digital copy. The role is primarily an off-air reporting and producing role, though applicants should also be comfortable reporting on-air as needed. The role is a contract position running from summer 2023 through January 2025.

Responsibilities
• Serve as a primary liaison between the network and the assigned candidates/campaigns
• Shoot and transmit political events using camera and live video transmission streaming technology
• Create daily news brief and summaries of key political events and editorial developments
• Field produce, coordinate live-shots and book guests for shows as needed
• Contribute to digital reporting
• Appear on-air a reporter on broadcast and digital platforms as needed

Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in journalism, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience
• Demonstrated knowledge of the US political landscape, current events and public policy
• Commitment to fairness, impartiality, and strong journalistic standards
• Must be willing to travel 100% of the time
• Must be willing and able to work flexible hours, under tight deadlines
• Must be available to work weekends and holidays
• Must be self-directing, self-motivating and able to work will with a diverse group of people
• Must have a valid US driver's license and a clean driving record
• Must be willing to submit to a background investigation
• Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
• Must be 18 years or older

Target Salary: $75,000 – 80,000
