Executive Producer, DC

Job Description

NewsNation is looking for an experienced Executive Producer to helm a daily news program originating from Washington, DC. The ideal candidate will have experience as a showrunner for a national news program and be skilled at crafting compelling and well-rounded broadcasts covering the top political, domestic, and international stories of the day.

Duties & Responsibilities:
• Work collaboratively with host and with network leadership on editorial vision for program
• Direct the daily editorial decision making and show production
• Review and edit content to ensure that it meets NewsNation standards
• Serves as control room leader
• Responsible for coaching and mentoring staff to ensure continued development and advancement

Requirements & Skills:
• Ten or more years of experience producing for a national news program
• Experience covering politics and policy
• Superior broadcast newswriting and copy-editing skills
• Strong news judgement
• Ability to be calm under pressure especially in breaking news situations
• Ability to adapt to change, meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
• Bachelor's degree in journalism, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience
• Proficiency with ENPS
• Ability to work flexible schedule as needed
