NewsNation Digital/Social Producer (DC)

NewsNation is looking for a skilled social media producer to work on video/social for a DC-based show. The producer is responsible for editing and distributing content from the daily broadcast to internal and external channels. This position is based in Washington, DC. This is a temporary position.

Duties & Responsibilities
• Clip broadcast segments for publishing across all digital platforms and social media channels.
• Craft compelling headlines, teases and social media posts that encourage followers to click into story watch video and/or interact with the digital platform.
• Monitor the latest news and locate people, images, and sound editorial information via Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Dataminr, YouTube, and other platforms • Other duties as assigned Requirements & Skills
• Three to five years' experience working as a digital reporter or producer in a major market or national newsroom • A bachelor's degree is preferred • Flexibility with your hours, as breaking news or major events warrant
• Must be self-directing, self-motivating and able to work will with a diverse group of people.
• Detail-oriented
• Excellent verbal, written, grammar and analytical skills
• Exhibit strong news judgment
• Handle stress, including short deadlines
• Work at a computer for extended periods of time
