Location: Sydney

The Social & Late News Producer will fill a unique role in the 10 News First team. You'll be responsible for creating compelling news content for social media, covering breaking news as it happens, and supporting the Sydney broadcast team with social and digital coverage. You'll also play a large role in producing the relaunched Late News as the iconic broadcast returns in an innovative new format.

THIS IS A FULL-TIME ROLE BASED IN SYDNEY, WITH A 2.30PM-10.30PM SCHEDULE Monday to Friday

You'll need to enjoy being part of a local newsroom as well as a broader team around the country. We want to hear from people who are passionate about news and passionate about delivering it to audiences as it occurs.

Functions will include:
• Source, research, and produce compelling news stories and posts for 10 News First and 10 social and digital accounts with a focus on video production
• Manage 10 News First social accounts and apply rigid community moderation standards
• Work closely with our broadcast teams, supporting the bulletins and journalists with social coverage and monitoring
• Compile clear, concise scripts for social and broadcast bulletins, ensuring accuracy and consistency of tone
• Follow breaking news procedures, including how major stories are covered on social media and on broadcast news bulletins
• Video and photo editing using Canva and Adobe Premiere
• Work on Late News bulletin with production/presenting team

What we are looking for in this unique Social News Producer role?
• Previous experience in a newsroom/news production environment
• A passion for all-things social media and content production
• An innovative mindset when it comes to content creation
• Ability to work with CMS and other systems for digital output of 10 News bulletins
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced news environment
• Ability to foster and manage key working relationships both within a local newsroom and across a nationally based social team
• A fastidious eye for detail and a keenness for fact-checking
• Flexibility to regularly work outside regular office hours particularly late nights (and weekends when required)
