Job Description
Netflix is the world's leading streaming entertainment service in over 190 countries. Netflix aspires to provide great entertainment for people everywhere from the world's best creators across movies, TV series, documentaries, comedy and more. Our members have control over what they watch, when and where, all with no commercials. It's an amazing time to join the Netflix team as we continue to transform entertainment.

About the Role:

This is a newly created regional Awards role with an emphasis on understanding the entertainment landscape across APAC and how Netflix's role regionally can not only strengthen our goals within the region but also impact our global awards ambitions alongside our content growth.

We are seeking someone who is a creative self-starter with experience & understanding of the APAC entertainment industry. They will work closely with the Director, Awards & Talent Relations to manage and execute our awards and festivals strategy across the Asia Pacific region. This will include supporting not only top regional priority titles but also global awards priority titles. Ideally they have experience with executing impactful publicity and/or marketing campaigns for film, series or documentaries. They need to be passionate about the entertainment industry and willing to seek out and learn about the best-in-class talent both behind the scenes and in front of the camera. This is an incredibly diverse and dynamic region that we want to stay ahead of. They need to be curious but cool under fire - able to work with internal partners across languages, cultures and countries, and represent the company with members of our creative community internally and externally including executives, filmmakers, talent and talent representatives.

This is a great opportunity to join a team of professionals dedicated to supporting an exciting slate of films, series and documentaries that feature some of the brightest filmmakers, creatives and actors in the industry. This is a very hands-on role, one where we want you to throw the playbook out the window and push the team to innovate as we continue to push the boundaries of what we can do.

To succeed in this role you will need:
• An entrepreneurial spirit with the ability to make tough decisions, even when faced with ambiguity, and think strategically.
• Excellent communication and people management skills to foster strong relationships with people and talent at all levels internally and externally.
• The ability to be scrappy, resourceful and relentless in trying to find solutions.
• A direct and candid communication style to articulate clearly what you are - and are not - trying to do.
• Not be defined by past experiences and able to put a new, creative spin on what a campaign can be.
• Organized, thorough and not afraid to get your hands dirty.
• Eager to learn and yet, also be able to contribute effectively outside of your specialty.

The Work:
• Maintain alignment on local and regional awards and festival strategy with publicity, content and marketing teams in the APAC region.
• Work within the global awards team to implement strategies across APAC film festival programming for Netflix titles.
• Start to develop an APAC Awards press strategy - identifying primary individuals and outlets that write extensively about awards and can lend legitimacy to our regional efforts.
• Design on and off-season talent relations engagement strategy to elevate networking efforts across creative, industry and press communities.
• Effectively determine ways in which we can engage with the members of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and other guild and industry associations in the region.
• Execute and manage awards campaigns and explore new tactics of promoting our films, series and documentaries.
• Maintain and manage a budget, and give clear visibility into the process.
• Potentially talent handler at events and festivals.
• Responsible for managing external consultants with the Director, Awards & Talent Relations.
• Handle submission paperwork for different awards and event logistics including planning and organizing screening events.

The successful candidate will likely have:
• Minimum of 5+ years in entertainment with related experience organizing, planning, executing awards campaigns and submissions, and/or agency, studio or broadcast network;
• Related experience in film festival activity, industry events with a keen understanding of the global entertainment industry. Knowledge of awards voter membership is a bonus.
• Familiarity with the media landscape as well as entertainment industries across the APAC region.
• Fluency in an Asian language is required along with the ability to speak and write in English is important.
