Software Engineer (L4/L5) - Content, Business Products and Games Platform Engineering

About Content and Business Products Engineering organization:
Content and Business Products Engineering builds the products and services used by our internal and external creative partners producing and managing our global content. Our products enable the entire workflow of content production and promotion, from pitch to play, and provide innovative new ways to develop and manage entertainment at scale.
We are hiring for this role across the following Content and Business Products Engineering:
Content Promotion & Distribution Engineering
This team directly impacts our business users and consumers by building products that allow us to manage our global entertainment catalog and next-generation off-service experiences.
Content Infrastructure & Solutions
Content Infrastructure & Solutions (CIS) teams build platforms to empower CBP's engineers to be innovative and agile in supporting our massive global content production needs in an ever-growing complex software landscape . The CIS offerings built in the Warsaw hub are: a) a platform for massive-scale media processing (1, 2) and media storage infrastructure (1, 2), used across all Netflix productions and licensed content; b) a search-as-a-service platform, enabling powerful, real-time search across the company's GraphQL ecosystem In addition, it builds AI-powered search capabilities, delivering advanced, context-aware results for users. (1, 2, 3)
Content Finance Engineering
This team builds products to help Netflix plan, spend and account for the money we spend producing world-class, award-winning, high quality, and diverse content. The goal of our team is to provide accurate planning of our content budget, help production houses manage their production budget, accounting of content spend and reduce the risks associated with reporting of the content spend.
About Games Platform Engineering organization:
The Games Platform Engineering organization comprises three major areas: Game Lifecycle, Games Experience Platform, and Foundational Excellence.
Game Lifecycle owns the lifecycle of a game from onboard to sunset, and is the bridge between game production and game release. We support Game Studios as they produce and develop games, and we enable the operation and promotion of games. This role will be focused on the Mobile Delivery domain within Game Lifecycle.
This role is based in Warsaw, and our teams work in a hybrid-working model.
Your Day-to-Day:
• Work cross-functionally to build, test, deploy, and launch backend services that operationalize our workflows at scale.
• Participate in product reviews and team meetings, providing technical insight. Help scope, estimate, and prioritize between conflicting needs.
• Evaluate new technologies and approaches to streamline and improve our rapid application development tooling and conventions.
• Regularly learn and influence new systems and tools as the Netflix platform and ecosystem evolve.
• Participate in our on-call rotation and lead the incident reviews.
• Effectively communicate complex technical issues and solutions to stakeholders.
• Live company values, actively engage in team discussions and provide mentorship while holding the team accountable for collective standards.

We would love to work with you if you:
• Have experience architecting, building, and operating resilient, highly-available, high-scale, low-latency microservices in production environments, with a proven track record of ensuring high availability, fault tolerance, and performance.
• Are proficient with gRPC, GraphQL, or RESTful API design and implementation, and relational and non-relational data stores.
• Have recent, proficient experience with Java, C#, or other OO programming languages with a solid understanding of OO design principles, concurrency, multi-threading, performance tuning, and observability.
• Have the ability to proactively describe complex technical concepts to a variety of stakeholders, driving conversations and decisions through written and/or verbal communication.
• Have a strong sense of ownership, independence, bias towards action, and inclination for collaboration.
• Are able to recognize, communicate, address and lead the technical improvements as part of the roadmap.

• Enjoy working closely with UI engineers, UX designers, and product managers to deliver reliable and performant services that meet user needs.
• Have experience working full stack, with skills in frontend and backend development, and you are open to diving into both areas when necessary.
• Have experience creating platforms, tools, or infrastructure for engineers, with a focus on understanding their needs and designing long-term solutions.
• Have experience in storage or media processing domains, in observability platforms, or you worked with or as SREs.
• Have experience developing build tooling, delivery automation, and self-service infrastructure tools.
• Have experience building software and distributed systems for media production and/or distribution workflows is strongly desired.
