Job Description
At Netflix, we are shaping the future of entertainment because we believe there is a better way to watch. Like our customers, we love movies and TV shows and we want the world to experience the joy of entertainment wherever and whenever they want.

To succeed in France, we need an unparalleled level of consumer insight to understand what motivates 'must-watch' entertainment moments and conversation across a range of cultures.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Researcher to join our EMEA team for a role with a focus in France. This position will be based in the Netflix office in Paris.

The Role:

Senior Researchers at Netflix are valued partners with our EMEA regional Marketing, Content and Product teams with the aim to help them tell incredible stories, define strategy, and develop world-class campaigns. You will work closely with the teams to understand their insights needs, then develop, execute, and deliver best-in-class research to address them.

We seek an individual who sees themselves in the following descriptions:

Meets these essential qualifications:
• Understands the consumer's voice and how to turn what people say into actionable findings - in fact, has a proven track record of turning findings into thoughtful, holistic stories that get to the heart of the opportunities.
• Curious, flexible, and constantly open to learning; a career trajectory that proves that
• Comfortable working independently, having ownership of multiple qual and quant projects at the same time, all while bringing the consumer voice to rooms at all levels of the organization
• Is a business leader who can prioritise multiple demands and determine which will deliver the greatest impact.
• Collaborates effectively with people of diverse backgrounds and cultures
• Nurtures and embrace differing perspectives to make better decisions
• Fluency in French is a must, as well as a high level of business English.
• Flourishes in our unique company culture.

Can thrive in a French-focused environment:
• A consumer insights expert with deep cultural understanding of France; is able to speak about trends, market intelligence, and competition in this country.
• Is curious about all our French members and open to listening to different perspectives across a spectrum of French society in order to make sure everyone feels seen.
• Has experience with local entertainment, understanding the complexities and challenges that face it. Having worked with local content is a big plus.

Has a wealth of research experience:
• Knows how to design a research project to meet the needs of the business question and can determine which methodology best serves the purpose.
• Has extensive primary research experience designing and executing both qual and quant studies; but can also integrate data & insights from other sources to tell a holistic, impactful story.
• Loves rolling their sleeves up and diving into projects, turning comprehensive studies into user-friendly tools that allow stakeholders to understand findings.
• Open to innovating, challenging assumptions, and implementing better approaches if they exist.
• Knowledgeable in positioning/brand studies as well as audience / landscape research. Any experience with content development research is a big plus.
• Having entertainment and media industry experience (i.e. at a Movie studio, TV Broadcast, TV Network, or research agency) is an advantage.

Is a stand-out partner to multiple teams:
• Grasps overall business objectives and larger strategic context of any work that is done.
• Has experience socializing research findings across different departments - content, publicity, marketing, product - and can pivot to the needs of each; is skilled at doing this both verbally and in writing.
• Can connect the dots and surface learnings from past research to apply today. You look for themes and big ideas across your work, and socialize them without prompting.
• Is comfortable prioritising work across multiple requests and stakeholders to ensure that they have the greatest impact. Knows when to say no to requests.
• Is a self-starter, agile thinker, comfortable, and able to develop innovative ways to resolve business issues.
• Is passionate about content and curious as to how to make all our members feel the same.
