QA Manager (CCQA), Games - Operations

Netflix is looking for an experienced technical manager that will oversee our Compatibility and Compliance QA (CCQA) at Netflix Game Studio where we are delivering the next generation of video games for a worldwide audience. This role is a part of the Operations team; driving the highest-quality testing standards of the new games on our world-class platform.

The CCQA Manager is technically proficient with an extensive background within compatibility and compliance mobile testing. The role requires strong mobile expertise across the diverse Android/iOS device universe along with other consumer devices. The CCQA Manager has a proven track record in executing compliance and compatibility testing, implementing best practices, and acting as a leadership coach to mentor and lead a technical certification test team.

The ideal candidate should have extensive knowledge of consumer game hardware performance and driving specifications, comfortable being hands-on, and be able to process vast amounts of data to inform the test strategy while serving as a focal point to the team and development partners.

Responsibilities
• Build the CCQA capability for Netflix Game Studio with a focus on a portfolio of internally and externally developed games to be distributed throughout the Netflix platform
• Build, lead and coach the CCQA test team
• Refine and implement best practices for the CCQA testing and reporting framework to support all games in the portfolio
• Work with partners and stakeholders to utilize, improve and manage our mobile testing lab
• Conduct compliance testing, documenting all issues across supported platforms
• Define control metrics impacting product and team quality
• Assess product quality, usability, and device limitations
• Conduct requirements gathering, and risk identification; reporting on all associated risks
• Drive all test development activities; estimation, planning, execution, reporting, closure
• Develop training materials as needed
• Adapt all CCQA processes to new platforms and technologies as our portfolio and business needs change.

Requirements
• Passion for games with a commitment to quality
• 9+ years of industry experience in QA
• Minimum 5 years experience hands-on compatibility and compliance testing (preferably in the Gaming industry)
• Minimum 3 years of experience leading compatibility and compliance test teams
• Comprehensive understanding of how a compliance and compatibility team can affect the business outcomes across a global organization
• Expert knowledge of first-party requirements, tools, and processes / Mobile or Console
• Technical requirements testing experience
• Exceptional iOS/Android testing experience
• Experience with Xcode, using IPAs, and pulling device logs
• Experience translating first-party requirements into effective test cases
• Demonstrated experience in test planning for complex features/systems
• Flexible and team-oriented with excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills

Bonus Skills
• Certifications: PMP, Scrum Master and/or Product Owner, ISTQB
• Coding Knowledge: XML/HTML, JavaScript, Python, Java, C/C++/ C#, SQL
• PC/Web experiencing or the ability to learn.

Location: West Coast Preferred
Our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $90,000 - $470,000 USD.
