Job Description

The primary role of the Program Manager, Early Career for Animation will be to partner closely with Netflix Animation Productions, Recruiters, Artist Management, and Outreach & Engagement colleagues, to place and develop early career Art and Story talent. They will lead efforts to develop and mentor entry-level talent throughout their trainee program journey, as well as identify and execute development opportunities with the intent to expose our leaders and their teams to up and coming new talent. They will partner with the Educational team and studio management to develop training and development programs to help discover and train future talent from a diverse background.

What You'll Do:
ONBOARDING + OFFBOARDING
• Partner closely with Creators/Producers, Artist Management, and Recruiters to understand projected hiring needs across productions and align with Outreach & Engagement colleagues on placing strong and diverse entry-level candidate pipelines
• Monitor the participants of the Art and Story Trainee programs and work with Artist Management to identify trainees that can evolve to be cast for full-time positions
• Manage the trainee journey, from placement to offboarding from the program

TRAINING +DEVELOPMENT
• Develop immersive early career and trainee opportunities specific to stylistic, technical, aesthetic, foundational and soft skill requirements
• Collaborate with Outreach & Engagement colleagues, Artist Management, and Creative Development teams on training opportunities for early career talent that reach beyond program participants, including externally to the larger emerging Animation community
• Ensure that candidates understand and embrace our unique culture, even as it continues to form, and that their journey and experience with Netflix is fruitful

PRE-TRAINEE OPPORTUNITIES
• Create mentorship and pre-trainee program opportunities for early career talent, specifically strategizing with an inclusive pipeline lens, enhancing animation curriculum for historically untapped outlets
• Work closely with Creators/Producers and internal Netflix stakeholders to leverage their expertise for mentoring, and further developing talent who have little to no Animation experience

What You'll Need:
• An understanding of the Animation industry and production process
• Experience working with early career talent in Animation, specifically in the Art and Story realm is a plus
• Program Management, Mentorship, Training, Learning, Curriculum or Development experience
• Familiarity with partnering with and influencing Creators or Producers regarding talent performance and/or placement
• Deeply curious about what makes different productions tick, allowing you to be effective in supporting different roles and functions
• Passion and patience for developing and helping emerging talent evolve and thrive
• Self-directed; unambiguously able to own and drive your work, and to take advantage of the autonomy Netflix allows
