With more than 200 million paid subscribers enjoying great content in over 190 countries, it's an amazing time to work at Netflix. Our legal team seeks an experienced patent and intellectual property professional to join the Netflix legal team based in our Los Gatos office.

This is an exciting and challenging role in a fast-paced environment, working with our patent legal team to support Netflix's product engineering team's ability to innovate, develop and deploy the best technology for our service. In this role the successful candidate will build a deep understanding of the Netflix product engineering organization and technologies in order to implement Netflix's global patent and IP protection strategies. The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for supporting all aspects of the global patent portfolio management; implementation of the team's core IP strategies and initiatives; optimizing and managing internal tools and public databases; overseeing internal publications and communications; and managing outside counsel, including billing and budgeting, as well as providing general operational support to the patent legal team.

REQUIREMENTS
• The successful candidate will have:
• 7 -10+ years of relevant experience as an patent manager, paralegal or similar role preferably with an in-house legal department at a multinational company or at a law firm.
• Strong interest or experience in evolving and improving patent portfolio management.
• Substantial experience and knowledge of patent prosecution, both foreign and domestic.
• Skilled in collaborating cross-functionally with attorneys, outside counsel, inventors and other business partners.
• Experience with patent docketing systems, tools and public databases. Ideally have worked with IPfolio and Innography.
• Extensive experience developing, updating and tracking quarterly patent prosecution budgets.
