Netflix is seeking a Manager, Awards - Animation to support PR and Strategy for our animation titles. This role is based in Los Angeles, CA and will report to the Senior Manager, Talent Relations & Awards - Animation.

The Role

As the Manager, you are an integral part of the team who will strategize and implement awards campaign components for select animated feature and series titles and pitch and secure press opportunities. You will be responsible for managing and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including filmmakers, showrunners, talent, and Netflix cross-functional teams and partners for support of those titles.

You have strong media and press relationships and will develop and pitch stories that bolster awards campaigns. You will oversee campaigns across awards bodies, including the Academy Awards, Golden Globes, Annies, Visual Effects Society, Producers Guild, all below the line guilds which vote in animation, Critics' Choice Awards, and regional critics groups. You will be able to identify ways to heighten contenders' profiles, strategize around needle-moving campaign opportunities, and execute niche market tactics. Your ability to manage multiple campaigns simultaneously, stay updated with trade and industry news, and your passion for animated features and series, all contribute to your strengths.

Responsibilities
• Create and implement awards strategy for animated features and series
• Filmmaker and showrunner responsibilities include day-to-day communications, organize schedules, appearances, travel, and accompany on awards tour and at local campaign events
• Pitch awards press for feature and series animation awards campaigns
• Coverage of awards screenings, Q&As, events, and panels
• Pursue trade reviews for select animated features and track regional critics' group awards, update awards press status reports and circulate awards breaks to filmmakers and write awards talking points, AMPAS, and guild synopses
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners on marketing, social, creative, events/programming, and PR to implement the most effective campaigns

Required
• 8+ years of experience in awards campaign strategy for animated features and series
• Exceptional talent and partner relations and the ability to effectively communicate strategy and ideas to filmmakers and talent reps
• Proven track record of press strategy, including but not limited to developing excellent press relationships and pitching and placing high-impact stories
• Experience in building effective campaign schedules, organizing press days, and participating in industry festivals and conferences (Annecy, Spark, SIGGRAPH, View Conference, Lightbox, Ottawa, Savannah, TIFF)
• Ability to work nights, and weekends and to travel extensively if needed
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Outstanding attention to detail and time management skills with the ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
• Exhibit sound judgment and adept critical thinking skills in various situations, enabling effective problem-solving and decision-making
Our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $160,000 - $320,000.
