Job Description
Netflix is building a new internal game studio to incubate and build a new class of hilarious, social party video games.

The 3D Artist will work with a new cross-discipline core team to rapidly prototype and iterate towards a new game vision, building confidence on a great game prototype to eventually bring to full production and available to Netflix members.

A successful candidate will be an excellent 3D Artist who can create a wide variety of assets, environments, VFX and be able to work in a multitude of styles in 3D and 2D with a good knowledge of game development pipelines, and relevant engines such as Unity. We have a highly collaborative environment, this role will work closely with artists, designers and engineers to build the vision of this game. We would love to see candidates who can solve visual problems, be self motivated and be collaborative and innovative.

Responsibilities
• Visual development: In the early days, collaborate with the core team to rapidly prototype visuals and 3D scenes / assets to achieve product vision. This includes building stub assets, consulting on constraints and getting 3D and 2D elements into the game as quickly as possible to help define both form and function.
• Prototyping : As the game design matures, experimenting and prototyping with the Artists,Tech artists and Engineers to iterate and experiment with styles visual development during the early stages, with an eye towards making production assets, 3D scenes, 2D, animating elements, VFX and UI elements both in 3D and 2D
• Production: Once we hit production, collaborate with the rest of the team to make sure that our Environments, Scenes and assets are to a high quality of polish, shippable, clean and within memory budgets working in a way that helps other artists, and members of the team bring the final vision to life.

Requirements
• 3+ years experience as a 3D artist shipping one or more AAA, casual or mobile games. (Entertainment and Movie experience is welcome but must have professional experience of creating for real-time rendering also)
• Rapid prototyping experience, creating stub assets for use in-game while testing new ideas
• Work closely with Artists, Tech Artists, Engineers and Designers to realize the vision of the project
• Strong art skills with experience and an understanding of 3D and 2D scene and asset creation, VFX, modeling,shaders, optimization, texturing, and lighting for games.
• Ability to work in a multitude of artistic styles, including stylized to fit the needs of the project, and future projects
• Exceptional communication, cross discipline collaboration skills
• Familiarity with multiple game engine technologies such as Unity
• Passion for making video games, especially in a rapid, focused, smaller form vs multi-year investments
• A good understanding and working knowledge of different visual styles

Bonus Skills
• Illustration and artistic design skills.
• Tech art skills, including asset optimization and figuring out which shaders and materials you will need. History of collaborating with tech artists
• Understanding of VFX, timing, motion and how to make things look extra crispy
• Wide general visual knowledge of games, design, media and interest in artistic principles
• Familiarity with source management tools like Git or perforce
