Job Description
Reporting to the CFO of NBC News, MSNBC, and CNBC, this key leadership role on the News Group finance team will be responsible for leading all planning and reporting for News (NBC, MSNBC, and CNBC) and will partner with the finance teams at Local and Telemundo to support a News Group financial view. This role will also own operational finance for all functional areas including but not limited to Marketing, Finance, HR, Comms, and DEI and act as a business partner with the functional leaders. This role will also provide a unique opportunity to support the News Group Chief Business Officer and be an integral part of the team analyzing and communicating business performance.
Responsibilities include:
• Responsible for all EBITDA and Free Cash Flow forecasting, reporting, and strategic financial analysis of the News portfolio, including NBC News, Today, Dateline, MSNBC, and CNBC
• Work closely with the CFO News, MSNBC and CNBC and News Group Chief Business Officer to support financial reporting across News Group (including News, Local, and Telemundo).
• Oversee the creation of all financial presentations to internal News senior leadership as well as the NBCU corporate team.
• Lead the Long Range Plan and Budget processes, in addition to all interim estimates and quarter close reporting processes.
• Responsible for the financial oversite and cost management of all News functional areas (finance, HR, Comms, etc), including headcount and compensation reporting.
• Aggregate financial and operational insights for News Senior leadership across all brands and revenue streams, particularly the Non-TV growth areas (Streaming, Commerce, and DTC), partnering with other functional teams where needed (Research and Data Analytics, Strategy, etc) .
• Drive clear communication and streamline processes and systems for all data and reporting across the News brands (and News Group) – continue to evolve and execute for a first-in-class FP&A organization.
• Ensure all financial statements and reports are prepared and presented in a timely manner, including income statements, balance sheets, cash-flow statements and variance analyses.
• Work closely with the Corporate Controllership team to maintain and enhance strong controllership environment.
• Assign and execute on other ad hoc requests assigned by the CFO and Chief Business Officer.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related field and a minimum of 10+ years experience.
Desired Characteristics:
• Prior relevant senior financial management and leadership experience, preferably in a dynamic, transformative matrixed organization.
• Significant finance and accounting skills, including experience in Financial Planning and Analysis (preferably experience in a media / production industry).
• Must demonstrate integrity, excellent judgment and business acumen, providing thoughtful strategic insights to senior leadership that translate into successful business strategies.
• Proven execution focus with the ability to multi-task and lead wide ranging business initiatives.
• Excellent writing and verbal presentation skills and strong project management skills.
• An inspirational and inclusive leader with the ability to recruit, develop, diversify and retain a high performing financial team.
• Must have a flexible, creative approach to the business and ability to modify their experience and knowledge base and adapt to the organization.
• Persuasive communicator with a vision, a proven ability to self-motivate who can work independently as well as collaboratively, and effectively deal with strong personalities and points of view.
• Able to establish trust and rapport with both operating and financial leaders inside the organization as well as in adjacent organizations.

Salary range: $180,000 - $240,000 (bonus eligible)
