Job Description
Universal Studios Hollywood, the Entertainment Capital of L.A. has an opening for an experienced Sr. Manager, Sales Strategy. We are looking for a dynamic sales professional to be a part of a winning team and work for one of the top companies in the world. This revenue generating role will be responsible for identifying private event opportunities and aligning business development efforts across sales channels. This role will also oversee internal events, manage sales processes and be accountable for boosting productivity and performance of the sales team. The position will report to and work closely with the Director of Sales to develop and implement sales strategies to drive Park and CityWalk private events.
Responsibilities to include, but not limited to:
• Identify new growth opportunities and strategic partnerships to expand market share and lead sources
• Establish sales initiatives and develop products that align USH with both market needs and financial targets
• Align business development strategies across sales territories through close collaboration with Sales Managers and industry partners
• Creative implementation of products and event experiences to position USH as best in class
• Understand and stay current with the competitive landscape, with continuous reporting of market trends and recommendations
• Develop demonstrated expertise on the Universal Studios Hollywood brand and the sales channels, including internal, local and inbound event markets
• Effectively support brand priorities with business opportunities leveraged from sales channel expertise
• Develop and implement sales strategies to drive profitable revenue growth and market share, meeting or exceeding financial targets
• Lead efforts to align the events business with internal stakeholders, consistently demonstrating cross-functional collaboration with internal partners such as event production, finance, trade marketing, operations and legal
• Manage internal sales process and procedures; improve efficiencies and sales output
• Partner closely with Sales Managers and participate in key client meetings, on-site FAMs, offsite industry events and tradeshows in order to drive increased performance and revenue
• Deliver effective presentations to internal and external audiences (i.e. internal business reviews to leadership and client presentations)
• Compose and prepare confidential correspondence, reports and other documents, including event proposals, budgets and contracts
• Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university is required; major in in Business, Sales or Marketing is preferred
• Minimum 8 years previous sales experience
• Experience managing and leading a team
• Willingness to travel overnight for business and attend weekend/evening events/programs
• Valid driver's license with reliable transportation and ability to drive to offsite business needs (sales calls, industry events, etc.)
• Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds safely
• Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office, web-based and custom-designed applications
• Strong reading, writing and analytical skills
• Advanced communication skills, both verbal and written
• Must be able to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, with changing priorities and significant time pressures
• Must be self-motivated, resourceful and proactive
• Creative, out-of-the-box thinker with a collaborative mindset and proven success working cross-functionally
• Must positively contribute to the team culture
• Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks.
