Responsibilities

What you'll do:
• Partner with EP and Sr. Producers to develop, research and plan compelling day- of and special content for The News with Sheppard Smith
• Contribute to editorial guidance on all breaking, daily, and future news
• Launch reporters, edit scripts, approve final version of story before air
• Rundown creation and management. Oversee rundown changes throughout the day and relay changes to show and technical staff
• Partner with all NBC properties and departments
• In control room execute show vision by communicating with Director and production team. Preview accuracy of upcoming video, graphics and dekos
• Keep show on time. Calmly deal with changes and breaking news during the show

Qualifications

What you'll bring:
• Minimum of 5 years of experience working in a line production capacity live television environment with a demonstrated ability to manage and lead in the control room
• Bachelors degree

Additional requirements:

• Must have editorial/broadcast experience on a national level
• Must have excellent journalism, writing and research
skills with demonstrated strong editorial judgment
• Able to make quick editorial decisions while remaining calm under pressure
• Must have demonstrated experience in producing stories for TV, including impeccable storytelling and production skills
• Demonstrate strong knowledge and interest in news and current events
