• Acting as primary legal adviser (with support from other members of the team) for the IMD business representing third-party foreign language channels for distribution into the US.
• Assisting on project work and product launches to support the development of our DTC business.
• Keeping up to date with, and advising the business on, key legislative and regulatory developments in the EMEA and Asia Pacific regions, including on copyright, advertising and compliance matters.
• Supplemental support to the marketing, production and technical operations lawyers in the team as required.
• Working closely with NBCU's specialist IP, Litigation, Privacy and Employment lawyers where needed.

Qualifications
• Eligible to work in the UK.
• Qualified to practise law in the UK preferred (other jurisdictions considered) with 4-8 years' post-qualification experience or equivalent. PQE range is a guide and candidates with more experience are encouraged to apply.
• Commercial, IP or transactional corporate experience, either in private practice or in-house, is highly advantageous.
• Ideally we are looking for someone with experience of (i) copyright and its exceptions, and other IP rights; (ii) rights categories and definitions relating to TV distribution; and/or (iii) the legal issues arising in a direct-to-consumer business, but candidates who can demonstrate solid negotiation experience and an ability to pick up new areas of law quickly are also encouraged to apply.

ABOUT YOU
• The position requires a professional, motivated and self-sufficient person who:
• is a team player with a can-do attitude;
• has excellent drafting and communication skills, great accuracy and attention to detail;
• proactively manages a broad range of open matters and is able to prioritise in order to meet deadlines;
• has flexibility in their approach and good problem-solving and interpersonal skills;
• has a willingness to learn, share knowledge and continue to develop their skills.
