Job Description
Responsibilities

NBC Universal Local Chicago is looking for a Public Relations and Project Manager to oversee our external/internal communications, press responsibilities and manage special projects. Lead strategy, collaboration, and implementation of media relations campaigns, with the goal of creating a favorable image of our brands and employees with influencers, press and the public. Steward projects that span brands and departments, unify stakeholders and create narratives that lead to engagement for internal and external audiences.

Responsibilities:
• Plan, implement and manage public relations programs and events
• Help in designing and reviewing a variety of promotional and marketing materials
• Design and review the online content in media announcements and media kits
• Monitor company image frequently and ensure it is in compliance with the brand
• Produce content for digital and social media channels
• Write and produce internal communications
• Write and produce marketing content and narratives
• Produce content for various speeches and events
• Developing and implementing organizational publicity strategies for company events and employee attendance
• Coach employees on public speaking and community engagement
• Build and enhance relationships between the company and community organizations
• Work with departments to create a project and event calendar
• Organizing promotional events such as tours and conferences
• Determine and define special projects scope and objectives
• Manage resources needed to reach objectives in an effective manner
• Develop and manage detailed project schedules and work plans
• Provide project updates on a consistent basis to various stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, and progress

Qualifications
• Previous working experience in public relations and project management for 3-5+ years
• BSc/BA in PR, communications, journalism or similar relevant field
• A proven track record of successful PR campaigns
• A proven track record of implementing projects
• Excellent communication, presentation and leadership skills
• Outstanding organizational and time management skills
• Proven ability to solve problems creatively
• Strong familiarity with project management methodologies, and best practices
• Experience seeing projects through the full life cycle
• Excellent analytical skills
• Strong interpersonal skills and extremely resourceful
• Provide community feedback to the management and stakeholders.
• Plan and execute community initiatives and programs
• Work with journalists and media to ensure accurate brand and product representation
