Job Description
Responsibilities

Role

Position would include supporting and working in a post-production environment within all Creative Operations groups (Finishing, Creative Editorial, Motion Graphics, Print and Operations) to maintain equipment and infrastructure.

Responsibilities:
• Maintain and Upgrade Editorial software. Examples (Adobe, Flame, Resolve)
• Maintain and Upgrade other software (Aspera, Amberfin, Black Pearl)
• Maintain Storage systems (SAN, NAS)
• Maintain and Upgrade Hardware (HP servers and workstations, Cisco Servers and hardware)
• Edit bay set up and Maintenance including cabling and hardware
• Diagnose and Fix broken equipment, send out if needed
• Experience in supporting Editorial software: Autodesk Flame, Davinci Resolve, Adobe (All Products), AVID; Other Software (Aspera, Dalet, Amberfin, Spectra, Black Pearl); Hardware (HP & Cisco Servers, Linux- Windows- Mac Workstation
• Proactively communicate with vendors, clients, and other engineering teams to resolve system issues and drive future development
• Shared storage and networking in a mixed platform environment – Quantum, StorNext, SAN, Facilis, SMB/NFS

Qualifications/Requirements
• ​​​​​​​Candidate must have 5+ years of Engineering experience in a Post Production environment
• Knowledge of wiring, setting up, and maintaining Edit Bays
• Experience in maintaining a Server Room and networking equipment
• Build custom scripts/programs/automation to solve various post production needs and manage assets
• Leverage API's to develop custom pipelines and software plugins using C++, Python, REST, SOAP
• Experience with media transcoders
• This position is subject to the terms and conditions of a collective bargaining agreement and the successful candidate will be required to meet the financial obligations of the Local 700 Union as a condition of continued employment consistent with the union security clause contained in that collective bargaining agreement.

• Leveraging APIs to develop custom pipelines and software plugins using C++, Python, REST, SOAP, etc.
• Strong interpersonal skills and adept at building relationships with all technical and operational areas across NBCU
