Responsibilities

NBC 10 Boston is looking for an experienced and ambitious journalist to join our team as a Political Reporter. This role will collaborate closely with our Editorial and Specials Teams and break political news in the Commonwealth.

Responsibilities:
• Report live during newscasts and breaking news as needed
• Create news packages on assigned stories daily for station's newscasts
• Report with accuracy and skill under deadline pressure, and be available for night and weekend work as needed
• Break exclusive political stories
• Understand The Commonwealth's unique political landscape.
• Work directly with News Producers on story ideas and development
• Presents completed stories that are accurate, journalistically sound, fair, and balanced
• Builds relationships with community and contacts for developing story leads

Qualifications
• At least 3 years experience covering politics on all platforms.
• Bachelor's degree in journalism or related field
• Deep knowledge of national and Massachusetts politics, campaigns and Congress
• Proven record of clear and authoritative reporting
• Ability to break news and work on deadline while also pursuing enterprise stories
• Highly motivated and collaborative
