Job Description
OVERVIEW
This is a fixed-term contract position for 6 months, providing maternity cover for the Panning Producer. As a Planning Producer for CNBC International, you will identify key events for news coverage and coordinate logistics for in-person and remote interviews. Additionally, you may be tasked with field production and on-location coordination. The Planning Producer will work closely with show teams, digital teams and social media teams to help develop stories from concept to final product.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
What you'll do…
• Research, source and plan news event coverage.
• Maintain an outside broadcast planner.
• Maintain a daily planner.
• Lead weekly planning meetings.
• Coordinate remote broadcasts.
• Work with digital team and social media team to coordinate multi-platform coverage.
• Stay on top of planned news events and react quickly to breaking news.
• Deliver content under deadline.
• Work closely with senior leaders as needed as main point of contact with shows, reporters, and network operations.
• Contribute to CNBC.com and social media when requested.
• Lead and participate in special projects, as assigned.
• Field production and coordination, as assigned

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
• Passionate about storytelling.
• Ongoing knowledge of and interest in the business world and financial news.
• Curious about the world, sees story ideas everywhere.
• Proven ability to write accurately and clearly in a fast-paced, deadline-driven news environment.
• Reliable, efficient, and communicative.
• Highly motivated, extremely organized, and a detail-oriented problem solver.
• Must be detail oriented and able to work under pressure and meet multiple daily deadlines.
DESIRED ATTRIBUTES
While not essential for this role, candidates with experience or proficiency in the following attributes tend to excel in this position.
• Experience in news production experience covering general news, business news, personal finance or investing
• Familiarity with CNBC News standards.
• Sound journalistic judgment.
• Experience in digital news.
