Job Description

The Photographer/Editor is responsible for shooting and editing all elements of news stories for daily newscasts.

Responsibilities:
• Stories will be assigned for series, special reports, and long form content.
• Assist reporter and producer in the pre and postproduction process.
• Creatively visualize stories told by reporters and producers.
• Photograph and edit news and feature stories.
• Always maintain equipment in good working condition
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
• Works under the direct supervision of SVP, News Production and is responsible for completing any other tasks as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:
• 5 years minimum experience in field camera, editing work and lighting work
• Able to follow direction from assignment desk, reporter, and producer
• Able to assist and/or do live transmissions via satellite trucks or local microwave
• Familiarization and ability to send stories via wireless technology
• Fully proficient on Avid 6.0 Mediacomposer on Mac operating system
• Proficient with Sony HD 350/500 cameras
• Fully proficient in HD lighting and shot composition
• Ability to react quickly and urgently to breaking news stories
• Ability to work irregular shifts (nights and weekends)
• Ability to communicate and effectively work well with people under pressure
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast paced, dead-line driven environment
• Must be available to travel domestically and internationally with minimal notice
• Must be fully fluent in English and Spanish (both written and verbal)

• Good overall knowledge of the Hispanic community
• Excellent communication, leadership, interpersonal and organizational skills
• Strong computer/technical background and ability to trouble shoot under pressure

Additional Requirements:
• Willingness to travel with short notice and on weekends
• Willingness to work flexible hours including late and/or last-minute scheduling changes in a 24/7 production work environment
• Must be willing to work in the greater Miami, Florida area
• Must be 18 years or older
• Must have a valid driver's license
• Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
• Must be covered by Solutions, NBCU's Alternative Dispute Resolution Program

SALARY RANGE: $85,000 – $90,000
