Job Description
Want to work with one of America's most beloved and trusted brands? The TODAY Digital team is looking for a proven, innovative reporter to join its high-performing Parents team. The role will be responsible for covering hot topics and trending news in the parenting realm while also focusing on continuing to diversity the team's SEO efforts.
The person in this role will divide their time between trending parenting news and SEO parenting stories. They should feel comfortable working closely with our SEO team to produce a high volume of targeted SEO stories on parenting topics, while being able to quickly jump on trending, daily stories - all while balancing long-term, high-impact projects. We're looking for a confident, experienced reporter who is open to guidance and editing that will help you grow, as well as someone with an eye for storytelling and unique perspectives that will resonate with our audience. • Work closely with broadcast bookers, producers and correspondents to tell stories across the brand's platforms in additive ways.
• Have a gut instinct for a good story and a knack for finding stories that aren't already everywhere across the Internet. We're looking for someone who can spot a story as it's going viral and have a great sense of what will become a talker before it's all over the internet.
• Have an ability to communicate pitches clearly and write in a fun, clear, TODAY-friendly voice.
• Be quick and accurate: Typos drive you crazy. Factual errors keep you up at night. You stay calm under pressure, think fast and turn stories quickly with no drama.
