Responsibilities
Lead and develop electronic and digital news gathering operations, including: photography, editing, and live truck operation. Technology leader and guru for the newsroom, constantly evaluating and implementing digital newsgathering solutions. Mentor and develop news employees' technology skills, especially in the use of digital and wireless tools. Help plan and manage large remote broadcasts including breaking news and special events.
• Establishing and communicating quality standards
• Provide ongoing performance evaluation and training
• Maintain and document ongoing safety programs including vehicle fleet maintenance and compliance with DOT and EHS requirements
• Budget development
• Newsroom capital planning and implementation
Qualifications/Requirements
Minimum 3 years direct
operations management experience in a local television
or network environment.
Experience managing employees which includes delegating tasks and remedying personnel issues.
Financial planning and accounting skills are a requirement, as are computer literacy.
Must be willing to work in San Diego
Must be willing to submit to a background investigation
Must be 18 years
or greater
Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
Must be available to work evenings and weekends
