Job Description

Responsibilities
The Network News Anchor will be responsible for researching, writing, producing, and presenting fair and accurate stories as assigned daily to air for news segments in Un Nuevo Dia, Noticiero Nacional, and Noticiero fin de semana.

Responsibilities
• Anchors newscasts and news segments as assigned
• Gathers and verifies news information and prepares for presentation on air and/or on digital platforms
• Actively participates in daily editorial meetings with story pitches of interest to our viewers
• Develops and maintains contacts with community, political leaders and activists and key figures
• Develop enterprise and exclusive content
• Collaborates with producers, managers and photographers to conceptualize, write and produce stories
• Generates a wide variety of story ideas, research and set up the content and interviews
• Gathers and verifies information through interviews, observation and research
• Communicates with news producers, assignment editors and managers regarding story development, progress in the field and/or breaking news stories
• Incorporates social media intro the reporting routine
• Stays informed regarding current events on a national, international and regional level
• Works under the direct supervision of the VP, Network News and is responsible for completing any other tasks as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications/Requirements
• Minimum of 10 years' experience as a television reporter
• Bachelor's Degree in Journalism or related field or equivalent work experience
• Must be fully fluent in English and Spanish (both written and verbal)
• Proven experience presenting stories on air in a professional manner during pre-packaged reports and live interventions
• Demonstrated ability to solve problems, prioritize decisions, and successfully manage multiple assignments concurrently in a high pressure, breaking news environment
• A basic understanding of desktop computers, iNews and learn systems as implemented

• Willingness to travel with short notice and on weekends
• Willingness to work flexible hours including late and/or last-minute scheduling changes in a 24/7 production work environment
• Must be willing to work in the greater Miami, Florida area
• Must be 18 years or older
• Must have a valid driver's license
• Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
• Must be covered by Solutions, NBCU's Alternative Dispute Resolution Program

• Proven solid writing skills and editorial judgment
• Effective self-starter with the proven ability to generate and produce news stories and enterprise stories
• Strong understanding of editorial judgment and journalistic ethics, including a current knowledge of laws of libel and slander
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast paced, dead-line driven environment
• Accustomed to working in a team and collaborating with all levels within the organization
• Proven excellent interpersonal skills combined with a strong sense of how to visually tell a compelling story desired
• Creative and highly organized
• Detail oriented
• Knowledge of non-linear editing and shooting workflow
• Experience being actively engaged in editorial processes and meetings
