Job Description

Responsibilities:
NBC LX is looking to add a highly-skilled video editor to our growing team. The Multiplatform Editor creates daily content for NBC LX. The ideal candidate has an eye for detail and thrives in a deadline-oriented environment. This editor must quickly edit raw video, build news graphics, composite graphics over video, and edit with music. We're looking for someone with an ear for story pacing and an understanding of modern visual language. This position is based in Dallas, Texas.

The Multiplatform Editor must:
• edit raw video into formats as requested by production team (VO, SOT, VOSOT, PKG)
• create high quality graphics as requested by production team
• collaborate with producers, designers, photographers and hosts as necessary
• collaborate with maintain local LX NEWS story archive
• understand video CODECs, compression, video file formats, and metadata
• use communication tools effectively (email, Slack, etc.)

Qualifications/Requirements
• 2+ years post-production experience working under deadlines or 2+ years news editing experience
• Strong editorial skills; ability to make editorial decisions as needed
• Demonstrated proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud
• Emphasis on Premiere; After Effects; Photoshop
• Comprehension of LX brand guidelines and style guides
• Ability to balance multiple priorities, problems solve, and be resourceful in a fast-paced environment
• Team player who can work flexible hours as needed
• Strong understanding of frame rates, aspect ratios, and resolutions
• Effectively manage your time to complete projects and avoid missing critical deadlines
• Be comfortable working within all necessary platforms (TV, YouTube, IG, etc.)
