Responsibilities
As a marketplace leader, NBCU Ad Sales builds solutions that help shape the marketplace and support our clients' in achieving their goals. As a result, the organization united a team of strategic Insights and Research professionals to redefine how we partner and collaborate with our media clients.

The Insights & Research department is building a new team to drive solutions rooted in Primary Research. This multi-faceted role includes developing primary research solutions to deliver on business goals across NBCU's various assets, including some of the most iconic entertainment, news, and sports properties in the world, as well as Thought Leadership.

The candidate for this role will collaborate across the Insights & Research organization and with internal stakeholders to understand business objectives that can be solved through custom research initiatives, delivering on many business goals.

This role requires an individual who has a strong background in primary research methodology and has a pulse on current trends in media consumption as well as technology adoption to integrate into the primary process. It's important, for the candidate to be a well-versed individual who can interface with sales leadership, trades, industry organizations, clients, and agencies alike.

You should be interested in this role if you feel you meet most of the above criteria and want to help reshape how we talk about consumer trends across advertising and the media ecosystem. This is a role for someone who will lean in to working at the forefront of the evolving video ecosystem, share their POV with the industry, and collaborate with some of the biggest players across the industry.
• Partner with the VP and Director of Insights & Research to develop a primary research practice supporting consultative services for our clients
• Proactively become a resource on all things primary research to internal stakeholders and external clients
• Manage the primary research budget and project manage the vendor briefs and contracts
• Help design and manage qualitative and quantitative research studies, including the selection and valuation of vendors, support in the development of research instruments, managing fielding, analyzing data, writing reports, etc.
• Establish relationships with peers in the strategy and go-to-market teams, operating as a consultative partner in achieving their objectives.
• Supervise and manage research vendors/partners, keeping track of key project details such as timing, recruitment of respondents, survey programming, and data output, and troubleshooting issues as they arise.
• Work with and manage research vendors to ensure adherence to industry best practices, stated timelines, contracted deliverables and high data quality
• Understand data weighting, cleaning, and cross tabulation
• Able to take abstract ideas and create simple narratives
• Ideate and be genuinely curious, smart, and motivated when it comes to creative research design
• Moderating experience a plus

Qualifications/Requirements
• Bachelor's degree required
• 4+ years' of relevant experience in primary research, designing and managing complex projects and consulting with clients and/or internal stakeholders
• Supplier-side experience required, media experience a plus
• Statistics knowledge and experience a plus; ability to understand and conduct advanced statistical analysis like factor and conjoint analysis is an advantage but not required
• Proven collaboration and interpersonal skills
• Strong presentation skills, both in large meetings and day-to-day consults with internal clients and senior executives
• Highly organized, with an ability to juggle multiple projects at any given time without sacrificing quality/nuance
• Knowledge of statistical analysis tools like R, SPSS and/or SAS preferred
• Mastery of Microsoft Office suite
