Responsibilities
Job Duties

This Content Producer position will be a multimedia role that will primarily provide editorial support to the I-Team/Consumer Unit. This role is covered by the terms of a collective bargaining agreement between NBCUniversal and SAG-AFTRA. Job responsibilities include:
• Researching, writing copy, editing video (on desktop), and producing news segments for daily Consumer stories and teases as assigned by Producers, Platform Managers, and the Consumer reporter
• Working with the Consumer and I-Team producers and reporters to write copy, order graphics, and edit teases for daily stories
• Serving as the primary liaison with NBC's Consumer Investigation Center
• Monitoring tip lines and pitching and researching story ideas
• Working with the digital team and producers and reporters in the Unit to ensure stories are posted on digital platforms and social media including but not limited to out-of-home and web.

Qualifications/Requirements
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
• Minimum 2 years of news segment producing
• Must be willing to work in Washington DC
• Must be 18 years or greater
• Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
• Must be available to work evenings, weekends and holidays

Desired Characteristics

• Minimum 1 year experience in newsgathering and/or production
• Minimum 1 year experience writing, producing and desktop editing
• Consumer/Investigative segment producing experience preferred
• Strong desire to deliver news as it develops on all current and future platforms
• A sense of urgency and desire to learn emerging technologies
• Strong journalistic skills
• Solid digital shooting skills
• Experience editing content on a desktop editing system
• Ability to write, edit and produce under heavy deadline pressure without compromising accuracy or credibility
• Ability to field produce, conduct interview and shoot stories
• Ability to make priority decisions under deadline
• Team player
• Spanish language skills a plus
