Role

The Manager, Ad Sales Finance is part of the ad sales finance and controllership team responsible for the accounting, controllership, payment operations and financial planning of the Ad Sales division's operating expenses. This role will support monthly accounting close process and payment operations for multiple operating teams such as research measurement and impact, ad platform operations, and trade marketing. The Manager will be a key contributor to developing automated processes and financial modeling for annual forecasting, planning, and quarterly pacing. The Ad Sales finance and controllership team works with all parts of the ad sales business and this role offers a great opportunity to learn multiple aspects of the Ad Sales business, while building relationships with various operators, and contributing to important strategic initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities

Provide ongoing support to Senior Director, Ad Sales Finance and various budget operators to develop scalable financial reports for supporting the monthly accounting close and payment operations. Primary responsibilities include:
• Perform monthly accounting close for operating expenses– inclusive of journal entry preparation for accruals and expense amortization
• Oversee the improvement of invoice processing operations, working closely with operators to develop efficient processes for communicating with vendors and processing invoices in a timely fashion
• Create comprehensive excel budget models to track expenses and satisfy budget operator planning needs such as current view vs budget and year to date actuals
• Lead monthly calls with operators (senior level and junior level) to present budget pacing and coordinate information gathering for maintaining an accurate budget model
• Communicate budget updates and variance analysis (vs budget, vs prior year) to Senior Director Ad Sales Finance and SVP Controllership
• Ensure compliance of controllership policies such as accounting policies, vendor management and payment processes
• Complete quarterly balance sheet account reconciliations
• Assist in ad hoc projects as necessary to support the finance and business strategy teams

Qualifications/Requirements
Basic Qualifications
• Four-year degree (B.A., B.S.) from an accredited college or university, preferably in Finance or related field
• Minimum of 4 years finance experience

• Willingness to travel and work overtime, and on weekends with short notice

• Must be willing to submit to a background investigation
