Responsibilities
Role Purpose
The Director, Remote Technical Operations will provide end-to-end technical operational oversite and representation for all planning and execution of NBC Sports remote broadcasts.

Responsibilities include (but not limited to):
• Primary point of contact for Remote Technical Operations & Engineering staff on all NBC Sports remote technical operational matters.
• Must be able to communicate all issues, mitigations, and resolutions to VP RTOE
• Responsible for troubleshooting with onsite Remote Technical Managers as needed
• Direct end-to-end technical operational planning for all NBC Sports remotes.

Responsibilities include:
• Liaison to Production teams on all production requests
• Assist in strategic financial planning processes
• Develop and track short- and long-term budgets
• Attend or delegate representation at all broadcasts and site surveys
• Work with vendors to secure and allocate best facilities/systems for NBC Sports remotes within budgetary restrictions.
• Coordinate with venue onsite person of contact
• Assemble and supervise an organization of NBC staff and freelance Remote Technical Managers. Responsibilities include:
• Staff hiring
• Freelance negotiations
• Staffing assignments
• Future workforce training
• Standardize and streamline pre/post planning documentation across all NBC Sports remotes.
• Institute uniform methodologies across NBC Sports remote compounds. Including:
• Equipment placement
• Cabling plans
• Power systems
• Best practices
• Conduct regular staff meetings.
• Manage all reported (pre/post-event) issues to resolution.
• Participate in system design, integration, and deployment of new mobile unit facilities/systems builds.
• Ensure that mobile unit vendors:
• Provide facilities consistent within NBC contracted levels
• Regularly maintain contracted facilities and hardware.
• Operate systems on latest software versions.
• Coordinate with Director, Remote Engineering and facilities vendors to
• Identify and implement emerging technologies
• Coordinate production demonstrations
• Manage upgrades to existing equipment
• Reconcile equipment rentals and missing-and-damaged charges against vendor invoices.
• Travel onsite as required.
• Act in capacity of Senior Remote Technical Manager as required

Qualifications/Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
• BS in Electronic Engineering or equivalent experience
• Minimum 10 years' experience as Technical Manger or Engineer in Charge of Network-level Remote Events.
• Knowledge of MS Office suite, Adobe suite, AutoCad.

Eligibility Requirements:
• Willingness to travel and work nights and weekends
• Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
• Must be 18 years or older
