VERSANT is looking for a Director, HR Operations – Core HR to join their team! The Director, HR Operations – Core HR will report to the VP, HR Operations and will lead the core operational functions of our HR Operations team. This role will focus on optimizing organizational structure, ensuring seamless personnel administration, managing the full employee lifecycle, and overseeing the administration of employee benefits. The ideal candidate brings a balance of big-picture thinking and operational excellence, with a passion for building scalable systems that support both business goals and employee experience.
Responsibilities:
Organizational Management:
• Design, maintain, and update organizational structures in alignment with business strategy and growth.
• Own and manage job architecture, position control, and headcount tracking across departments.
• Partner with finance and business leaders to ensure workforce planning aligns with budget and strategic objectives.
Personnel Administration:
• Oversee HR administrative functions including employee records, employment agreements, data accuracy, and audit readiness.
• Ensure data integrity and compliance across all employee records and HR systems.
• Lead the administration of employee changes (promotions, transfers, terminations, etc.) with speed, accuracy, and compliance.
Employee Lifecycle Operations:
• Develop and manage standardized processes for the full employee lifecycle, from onboarding through offboarding.
• Improve employee onboarding experiences to drive early engagement and productivity.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to implement effective offboarding processes including exit interviews and knowledge transfer.
• Monitor lifecycle KPIs and employee data trends to inform operational improvements.
Benefits Operations:
• Oversee day-to-day administration of employee benefits programs including health, dental, vision, retirement, leaves of absence, and wellness initiatives.
• Collaborate with brokers, carriers, and vendors to ensure accurate, compliant, and efficient benefits operations.
• Manage open enrollment processes, employee education, and benefits communications.
• Ensure compliance with ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, and other applicable laws and regulations.
Qualifications
What you'll need:
• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; Master's degree or HR certification (e.g., SPHR, SHRM-SCP) a plus.
• 8+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in HR Operations leadership.
• Deep knowledge of HR Operations best practices, especially in organizational structure, employee lifecycle management, and benefits.
• Experience with HRIS systems (e.g., SAP) and a strong understanding of HR data reporting and analytics.
• Proven ability to lead and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency and compliance.
• Solid project management, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance.
• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

Eligibility Requirements:
• Must be willing to work overtime when required
• Must be willing to travel for work related business if necessary
Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the Englewood Cliffs, NJ office a minimum of three days per week.
This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks. Salary range: $165,000 - $185,000 (bonus and LTI eligible).
