Responsibilities
TODAY Digital, the multiplatform arm of America's favorite morning show, is looking for a Commerce Editorial Assistant to optimize, write and promote social media content for Shop TODAY. The role will be responsible for helping manage the Shop TODAY social editorial calendars, writing at least five social-first shopping stories a week, assisting in larger projects and initiatives and keeping track of social posting and reporting data.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of news standards and practices, a mix of editorial and analytical skills with a firm understanding of social media. This person should be organized, detail oriented and skilled at coordinating between many different groups of people at any given time. They should be able to use data and analytics to drive editorial decisions and accurately decipher marketing jargon to ensure all copy is accurate and help readers make informed shopping decisions.
Responsibilities include:
• Identify, pitch and write at least 5 social-first shopping stories per week
• Assist in managing social editorial calendars across all platforms
• Assist the Shop TODAY team with editorial social media promotion and research
• Help optimize articles and social posts based on analytics and audience insights
• Help manage emerging platforms including TikTok and Pinterest for commerce stories
• Help track social performance and identify new tools
• Coordinate with the Associate Commerce Editor for planning around tentpole events and larger-scale projects
Qualifications/Requirements
• Minimum 1 year editorial experience, commerce
experience a plus
• Work experience for a news brand a plus
• Prior work or interest in social media storytelling
• Exceptional knowledge of grammar and AP Style

across multiple teams
• Basic understanding of data, analytics and excel or
interest in learning
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the
