Job Description

The Associate Producer is responsible for identifying, conceptualize, prepare newsworthy stories for Noticias Telemundo Ahora streaming channel. The candidate would also be responsible for calling supers in a control room/Tricaster environment. Candidate must have a strong editorial background. Candidate would need to multitask and work in a fast paced, deadline driven environment with the willingness to work early morning shift, nights, weekends and have flexible hours for last-minute scheduling changes.

Job Duties:
• Tracking news and events; coordinating coverage with digital/linear managers and assignment desk producers.
• Assist in all aspects of production, from headline to segments, as needed.
• Prepare original content for the shows.
• Required to be in the control room and have complete knowledge of the control room environment.
• Prepare and call supers and titles in a live broadcast.
• Newsgathering savvy. Must have social media knowledge and be able to work in a fast pace.
• Coordinate with Director and technical production to assure that production elements are built and ready for air.
• Work in collaboration with News Digital/Linear teams, Assignment Editors,
• Reporters, and production crews
• Ability to work in hybrid scenarios such as control room or Tricaster room when needed.
• Works under the News Digital division and is responsible for completing any other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
• Able to request news graphics including editorial and creative process.
• Proven solid writing skills. Excellent grammar.
• Strong editorial knowledge.

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in journalism, Communications. Minimum 3 years of experience working in a newsroom in Spanish and at least 2 years of experience working in a control room environment.
• Experience creating digital video content in a newsroom is helpful.
• Detailed knowledge of social media and the competitive digital news environment.
• Demonstrated success operating in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines to write headlines and edit video for live digital broadcast.
• Detailed knowledge of social media and the competitive digital news environment.
• Prior experience with iNews, VIZ, Media Central and Flowics.
• Familiarity with editing systems such as AVID and Adobe Premiere required.
• Available for early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Understanding of SEO is helpful.
• Must be fully fluent in English and Spanish (both written and verbal).

• Accustomed to working in a team and collaborating with all levels within the organization.
• Proven excellent interpersonal skills combined with a strong sense of how to visually tell a compelling story.
• Outside of the box thinker.

Additional Requirements:
• This position is required to be performed full-time from an NBCUniversal-designated worksite.
• Must be willing to work in the greater Miami, Florida area.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.
• Must be covered by Solutions, NBCU's Alternative Dispute Resolution Program.
