The Dateline team is seeking an Associate Producer for a fast-paced weekly production. This is an ideal position for an assistant producer wanting to hone their news chops. The AP will contribute to production and promotional needs, and work with other podcast properties under Dateline to help drive expansion.

The Associate Producer will be expected to research, gather tape, write comprehensive prep and collaborate with the team to develop the direction of the show. The AP must be up for a challenge, great at multitasking and excited to work with Dateline's digital team to support the marketing of the show.

Responsibilities
• Help guide shape and tone of episodes, via prep and archival pulls
• Cut interviews using Descript
• Contributes to editorial planning of episodes
• Consistently generate timely and informed pitches
• Contribute to booking and outreach as needed
• Initiate, plan and collaborate with team to develop recurring segments and evergreen packages
• Work across teams at Dateline to support the marketing of the show and social media promotion of episodes

Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.

PLEASE NOTE: This is a short term position with an estimated duration of 24 months or less, unless otherwise amended or terminated as deliverables within this project are completed. 

What we'll offer: Production Employee (PEP) Regular who works more than 1,000 hours per measurement period: 
• Eligible for 401K after 1,000 hours worked in 12 consecutive months 
• Eligible for Health and Welfare benefits on 1st day of employment 
• Eligible to participate in Employee Stock Purchase Program after 90 days of employment 

Salary range: $60,000 - $70,000

Qualifications
• NYC-based
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent
• At least 1 year of experience reporting and producing for audio
• Strong knowledge of current events
• Understanding of journalistic ethics and best practices
• Experience in a newsroom
• Highly organized and conscientious team member
• Must be willing to work varied shifts as news changes
• Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects under deadline
• Collaborative attitude and strong communication skills
