Job Description

NBCUniversal is seeking an Analyst for their Insights & Measurement team to assist in developing data and insights-driven research solutions to support ad sales objectives, educate the marketplace, and position the NBCU portfolio favorably in the crowded media landscape.

Your responsibilities will involve developing analytic insights and narrative positioning to support sales efforts across the NBCU portfolio, with a particular emphasis on Peacock, One Platform (linear and digital/Peacock viewing across all NBCU networks including NBC, Bravo, and Telemundo), and other streaming and data products.

You will collaborate with internal stakeholders in sales and marketing to translate the needs of advertisers into ''sellable'' solutions, implementing quantitative and qualitative data, as well as thoughtful storytelling.

Duties and Responsibilities
• Assist the Insights & Measurement team in creating actionable insights and compelling narratives to support Peacock and One Platform sales efforts
• Help maintain weekly, quarterly, and bi-annual research reports leveraged by the wider team in developing ''sellable'' insights and educating the marketplace
• Leverage first-party, syndicated, and custom research tools to surface audience insights and explore shifts in media consumption behaviors and preferences
• Develop timely content, consumer, and category insights to address ad-hoc requests, particularly related to digital and social partnerships (e.g., Fandango, Apple News, Anzu gaming, YouTube, and emerging partnerships)
• Collaborate with research counterparts in other functions of the organization to infuse their internal knowledge into sales-focused narratives
• Contribute to larger NBCU initiatives and thought leadership when needed

Qualifications
• 1+ year of work experience or a comparable internship at a media company, agency, sales organization, or in a research capacity
• Bachelor's degree preferred, ideally in Communications, Marketing, Media, Economics/Finance, Math, Statistics, Psychology, or a related field
• Strong computer skills, particularly working knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint (formatting data, creating charts/graphs, using formulas and pivot tables)
• Ability to think both analytically and narratively
• Ability to balance multiple projects and make priority adjustments as deadlines shift
• Comfortable with collaboration, and willing to partner with fast-paced, high-performing sales and marketing teams
• Comfortable being client-facing, with the potential to present to internal and external stakeholders
• Background in analytics and/or media math preferred
• Prior experience with media tools (e.g., Nielsen NPower, comScore, SCR Talkwalker) and other syndicated research applications (e.g., MRI, GWI, YouGov) a plus
• Knowledge of Tableau a plus

Eligibility Requirements
• Must be willing to work in New York, NY, with three in-office days; typically Tuesday - Thursday with the ability to adjust as business needs dictate
• Must be willing to submit to a background investigation
• Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the United States
• Must be 18 years or older

Desired Characteristics
• Ability to pair solid analytic skills with creative storytelling – data should be more than just a number on the page
• Ability to communicate research findings to stakeholders in a clear, easy-to-understand format
• Ability to identify what makes insights ''sellable'' and actionable
• Rigorous attention to detail
• Extremely strong oral and written communication skills
• An innate curiosity and a desire to develop research skills
• A self-starter who seeks opportunities to be proactive
• A team player who collaborates well with others, both on the immediate team and with other areas of the organization
• A strong interest in the television, media, and entertainment business
• Interest in the evolving media landscape and cross-platform media trends
