Job Description

JOB SUMMARY:We are looking for an experienced seller who has a passion for developing new business, as well as the sales and business acumen to grow share of existing agency business utilizing all available platforms.

• Generate station and digital revenue from both traditional and non-traditional prospects in the Bay Area
• Generate/increase revenue of new and existing accounts from an established list of advertising agencies and clients with the goal of meeting revenue targets
• Understand customer needs and look for opportunities to develop monetize-able creative solutions, including customizable cross-platform opportunities that meet client needs
• Own, manage and develop client, agency and advertiser relationships through day-to-day interactions
• Create customized solutions for clients that will demonstrate the reach of NBC Bay Area
• Manage multi-level campaigns at each phase. Execute elements, monitor performance, and insure customer satisfaction
• Be an expert on all NBC and NBC Bay Area product offerings, including news, digital and local programming
• Maintain a current knowledge of ratings, research programs and competitive conditions in the market
• Actively grow industry intelligence

Basic Qualifications:
• Minimum 5 years sales experience
• Minimum 5 years of experience working with Word, PowerPoint and Excel
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in sales

Eligibility Requirements:
• Must be willing to work in San Francisco, CA and at the station in San Jose, CA when necessary
• Willingness to travel and work overtime, and on weekends with short notice
• Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
• Must be 18 years or older
• Must have a valid Driver's License
• Must be covered by Solutions, NBCU's Alternative Dispute Resolution Program

Desired Characteristics
• Minimum 1 year of experience selling digital/internet products
• Proven track record of developing creative solutions for customers' marketing objectives and garnering revenue from non-traditional sources
• Sales skills with a record of attaining or exceeding quotas
• Negotiating and marketing
• Demonstrated sales problem-solving skills
• Ability to find and develop non-traditional advertising
• A track record of generating new business
• Demonstrates the ability to set goals, create and execute on actions and sales plans.
• Knowledge of sales computer applications
• Ability to quickly understand and size up opportunity and/or problems and respond with creative ideas and solutions
