Freelance Production Assistant - NBC Sports Washington

Responsibilities

NBC Sports Washington is looking for Production Assistants to collaborate with our Emmy-Award Winning production teams to help create compelling content for our pregame and postgame shows.

What We're Looking For
• Accurately create, edit, and review all graphics used in the show
• Operate the graphics computer in a live control room environment
• Operate computer equipment that sets up the daily recording schedule
• Perform other Studio/Control Room functions as needed
• Monitor news feeds and social media content for possible use on-air
• Secure video and audio footage to be used in live shows, packages and features.
• Assist in game day highlight operation (screening, logging, providing editing notes).
• Assist in postgame sound selection (screening, logging & communicating with production & digital staff)
• Perform statistical and data research
• Assist in copying and distributing scripts and rundowns.
• Participate in all production meetings

Qualifications/Requirements
Qualifications
• Passion and understanding of sports strategy, vocabulary, and history (particularly for our core teams - Capitals, Wizards, and Commanders)
• Possess a high level of initiative and ability to work independently when directed
• Ability to learn quickly, anticipate needs, and perform under pressure
• Strong computer skills with the ability to type quickly and accurately
• Be a good teammate willing to help wherever needed
• Demonstrate decisiveness and superior people skills required in a live television control room environment
• Availability to work off-hours (nights, weekends, and holidays)
• Must be willing to work in Washington, DC
• Must be 18 years or greater
• Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
