Responsibilities

NBC News Digital is looking for an experienced Supervising Video Editor to join its centralized digital post-production unit. The ideal candidate is a natural leader and an experienced visual storyteller. They should have proven filmmaking expertise and be comfortable working in a multi-platform digital production environment. They will manage a team of video editors in the daily production of a variety of content to support NBC News Digital's video productions efforts. They should be passionate about news and storytelling and should be ready for a fast-paced environment.

Job Duties:
• Supervise a team of editors in the execution of a wide range of digital content including, social, doc, profile features and interviews
• Provide technical direction, creative direction, feedback and guidance to editors as needed
• Design, implement and maintain production standards, supporting documentation and style guides
• Liaise with senior leadership across various departments including editorial, tech, and graphics
• Advise and help manage edit assignments, production schedules and workflow with operation and editorial teams
• Liaise with any post-production related freelancers or vendors
• Manage multiple projects and communication between stakeholders, simultaneously, with tight deadlines

Qualifications/Requirements
- 8 or more years of professional experience as an editor or adjacent roles in digital video production
- Prior professional experience in a directorial and/or

management position
- In-depth understanding of digital and editorial content

production process
- Must have a portfolio with extraordinary video content

that shows an expertise in video editing, visual

storytelling, and digital production techniques across a

variety of platforms
- Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Adobe

Premiere
- Advanced knowledge of sound design
- Advanced knowledge of color-correction
- Social media savvy and a passion for emerging

technologies
- Experience with analytics, data-driven decision making

and content distribution

Additional Job Requirements:
- Must be willing to work in New York

Desired Characteristics
- Knowledge of Avid
- Experience in a broadcast production environment
- Experience shooting with a variety of professional video

cameras, DSLRs etc
- Experience shooting and lighting multi-cam shoots, both

in the field and on location
