Job Description

The Senior Financial Analyst, NBC News will have operational finance responsibilities, focusing primarily on live production cost management. Key responsibilities include pacing & monthly close, management reporting, and operational support for various production teams. This role reports into the Sr. Director Finance, NBC News.

Responsibilities:
• Support the preparation, analysis and reporting of operational expenses, including Compensation and Benefits and variable production costs, across forecasts, budgets, actuals and pacing
• Assist with monthly close process by preparing journal entries, variance analysis, and financial reporting.
• Lead regular cost tracking for production teams including maintenance of standard reporting packages, dashboards and other ad-hoc analysis
• Support management reporting across income, cash flow and balance sheet statements
• Help to identify risks and opportunities
• Partner with operators to support the business, including acting as a key resource around both corporate card and accounts payable processes.
• Expected to communicate results and metrics in a timely manner.

Qualifications

Qualifications/Requirements

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
• 2+ years of relevant experience.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial statements.
• Excellent computer and analytical skills, particularly in Excel and PowerPoint.
• Proficient use of SAP/Business Warehouse/BPC or similar accounting software.
